Stability Ball Wish List
***10 Reebok 75 cm Stability Balls: There has been extensive research being conducted on "chairless" classrooms. In 2013, for quarter 3 and 4, every student sat on a stability/yoga ball. The focus of each student increased and work complettion sky rocketed. I would like to begin the third 6th grade class with all students sitting on stability balls. Last year, I had various sizes and colors but the best, most durable brand that we had were the Reebok 75 cm stability balls. If you are willing to donate one, please email me at [email protected], so I can change the amount needed on our website!
Weighted yoga balls have replaced chairs in many classrooms where test scores, productivity, and comprehension have increased. If you are interested in the research, here is an interesting article about it, http://www.balldynamics.com/research/a1237990661.pdf in a college level setting. Also, in one article it was stated that, "The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota did a study showing that students with attention problems could focus better using the stability ball for a chair. The ball allows movement without making noise and disturbing others." If you are interested in donating a weighted stability ball, I would greatly appreciate it. The 75 cm weighted stability ball will suit our sixth graders needs the best.
